Ordering & FAQs

Answers to common questions about estimates, files and delivery.

Do you offer resin printing?

Yes. Email your model, quantity and intended use to sales@3dtodoor.uk for a resin printing quote. Select Resin in the calculator for a provisional estimate: £10 setup per order plus £0.45 per estimated printing hour, with a £10 minimum. No separate material charge is added. Resin timing assumes 0.05 mm layers, 8 seconds per layer and 15 minutes allowance per part. Actual orientation, supports and batch layout must be reviewed.

How is the print price calculated?

Each order has a £2 setup charge, plus £0.50 per estimated print hour and material at £12/kg for PLA, £15/kg for PETG or £16.50/kg for ABS. The minimum print order is £5. Setup is charged once for the quantity selected, rather than for every part. Estimated material includes a 10% allowance. Delivery and any applicable tax are quoted separately.

Is the online estimate a final quote?

No. It is an indicative calculation based on the mesh volume and the settings you choose. Supports, orientation, tolerances and other print requirements need review. Delivery and any applicable tax are quoted separately. Confirm the final price by email before ordering.

How do I place an order?

Start with an estimate, then choose “Discuss this print”. Your email app will open with the details filled in. Attach your model and add any project notes before sending. An estimate or email enquiry does not automatically place an order.

How long will my print take?

Timing depends on the model, quantity, specification and production availability. Include your deadline in the enquiry so feasibility and dispatch timing can be confirmed before you proceed.

What does delivery cost?

Send your delivery postcode with the enquiry. Delivery arrangements and charges need confirmation with the final quote; the online estimate covers the print only.

Can I choose a colour?

Yes, include your preferred colour in the enquiry. Material and colour availability must be confirmed before ordering.

Can you quote multiple parts or a larger batch?

The calculator estimates one file at a time, with quantities from 1 to 100. For assemblies, mixed files or larger quantities, email the models with a quantity list for a manual quote.

Will the print look completely smooth?

Filament prints normally have visible layer lines. Support removal can also leave surface marks. If appearance is important, explain which faces will be visible and ask about the expected finish.

Are my files sent when I use the calculator?

No. The model is processed on your device and is not uploaded to our server. You need to attach it manually when sending an enquiry.

Can I print a part that must fit another component?

Include the critical dimensions, tolerances and intended fit in your email. The calculator checks basic mesh geometry; it does not validate whether a part will fit or meet its intended use.
